Small but POWERFUL

THE HUNGER OF EMPTY VESSELS by Scott Edelman (to be released by BAD MOON BOOKS, 209 / 47 pp / chapbook)
Christopher Portobello--against court orders--goes to see his son playing in the schoolyard. But someone else is watching his son, too, but takes off before Chris can question him. The same mysterious person shows up the same night while Chris is spying on his ex-wife and son arguing in his old house. Then there's two more meetings that lead up to an eerie and heartbraking finale.
VESSELS is a brief (but powerful) tale dealing with a man's inner demons and struggle to have his son back in his life. Deep, disturbing, and emotonally draining, Edelman really knows how to pack a knock out into a literary jab.
Although labeled a novella, I'd consider this a chapbook, but don't let its small size turn you off.

I've meet Scott at I-Con a few years ago. In addition to being a wonderful writer, he's smart and funny! |
